Delegations of authority by the Department Director
The following delegates have been appointed for the three-year period 2024/2027 to support the Director in pursuing the objectives of the Department of Industrial Engineering.
Delegato alla Didattica | Prof. Alberto Regattieri | The didactics delegate is responsible for coordinating teaching activities, promoting the quality and updating of the educational offerings, and providing support in the didactics area to colleagues and in collaboration with the student delegate to the student component. He is in charge of the allocation of teaching resources, coordination between courses of study and the Department and the University, and the preparation of teaching-related announcements and teaching calendars. In addition, it collaborates with other delegates and student representatives and right-to-study institutions. |
Delegato alla Ricerca | Prof. Rocco Vertechy | The Research Delegate is responsible for promoting the Department's strategies regarding research. In particular, he is required to: propose and promote actions to improve the quality of research, also taking into account the University indicators for the allocation of resources; foster synergies between faculty and researchers or research groups both within the Department and externally, nationally and internationally. He is also required to coordinate the personnel who have specific functions in research. |
Delegato per le Attività di Terza Missione/Impatto sociale | Prof. Nicolò Cavina | The Delegate for the Third Mission is a faculty member responsible for promoting and coordinating the Department’s activities that have an impact on society, beyond teaching and research. This role, established by the Statute, involves promoting strategies for local engagement and collaboration with public and private entities. The Delegate also supports the Director in managing Third Mission activities, Public Engagement, and Technology Transfer, as well as in monitoring their quality and drafting the related section of the SUA RD (Self-Assessment, Evaluation and Accreditation Report). In summary, the Delegate for the Third Mission plays a key role in the interaction between the Department and society, fostering the social and economic impact of academic activities. |
Delegato per il dottorato di ricerca | Prof. Lorenzo Donati | The Delegate for Doctoral Programs is responsible for overseeing the organization and operation of the Department's PhD programs, coordinating strategic decisions and deadlines and promoting the quality of the training offered. He facilitates the exchange of information between program coordinators, the Department, and the University regarding course design, the organization of phd students' training, the course review, and, more generally, he supports the aspects related to the management of the quality assurance system. |
Delegato per l’Assicurazione della Qualità | Prof. Marco Bortolini | The Quality Assurance Delegate is responsible for overseeing continuous improvement processes in the areas of Teaching, Research, People, and Society within the Department, in synergy with the University Quality Committee. This involves, first and foremost, coordinating the definition, monitoring, and updating of the Department's multi-year Strategic Plan, which serves to define the strategic objectives for departmental development, the actions necessary to achieve them, and the indicators useful for monitoring. He chairs the Department Quality Assurance Committee and He coordinates monitoring and annual review activities, interacting with the Delegates in each area in which the department operates. He is responsible for reporting back to the entire Department on actions and best practices in the field of Quality Assurance. |
Delegata alle Studentesse ed agli Studenti | Prof.ssa Lorella Ceschini | The Delegate for Students is tasked with fostering dialogue with student representatives and, more broadly, the entire student community of the Department. The role includes gathering input and identifying needs to enhance the academic experience. The Delegate also supports and evaluates cultural and policy initiatives promoted by the University or Department in favor of students, encouraging actions that ensure the effective and equitable access to education, services, and opportunities for all students. |
Delegata alla Uguaglianza di Genere | Prof.ssa Beatrice Pulvirenti | The Delegate for Gender Equality works to promote an inclusive and respectful university environment, free from discrimination and gender-based violence. This includes promoting a culture of respect and gender equality, combating gender discrimination and all forms of violence, and implementing the University's Gender Equality Plan (GEP). Finally, the Delegate collaborates with other institutions and organizations to promote equal opportunities. |
Delegato alla Edilizia e Spazi (Sede di Bologna) | Prof. Alessandro Morri | The delegate for Department buildings and spaces is responsible for managing, planning, and optimising departmental spaces, in coordination with the Department Management, the laboratory delegate, and the university’s technical offices. Key activities include monitoring the condition of buildings, reporting and supporting the resolution of structural or space-related issues, defining routine and extraordinary maintenance interventions, and assessing space requirements for teaching, research, and administrative activities. |
Delegato ai Laboratori (Sede di Bologna) | Prof. Luca Barbaresi | The Laboratory Delegate coordinates activities related to research and teaching laboratories, promoting the development and coordination of infrastructure. He or she interacts with the Building and Space Delegate to optimize research spaces and laboratory procedures and related services. He or she interacts with the University's Technical Office to define, organize, plan, and manage the construction of technological and mechanical systems and facilities serving laboratory research activities. |
Delegato alla Edilizia e Laboratori (Sede di Forlì) | Prof. Paolo Tortora | The delegate for buildings and laboratories is responsible for the management, planning, and optimization of space, in coordination with the Head of the Forlì Unit and the Head of Department. Key activities include monitoring the condition of buildings and systems, developing space organization solutions, defining routine and extraordinary maintenance interventions, and assessing the needs of the Unit's faculties for office and laboratory space. |
Delegato alle Relazioni Internazionali | Dott. Matteo Dongellini | The International Relations Delegate is responsible for promoting and coordinating the Department international activities, with the aim of strengthening its global presence and impact. He/she promotes incoming and outgoing international mobility for students and faculty members, facilitating participation in exchange programs, and enhancing the Department international reach by welcoming researchers from universities, research centers, and other foreign institutions, thus fostering collaboration in research, teaching, and technology transfer projects. He/she manages communication and information exchange with University of Bologna governance and supports the planning of mobility projects. He/she monitors and evaluates the Department international activities, analyzing their impact through data and information collection, and proposes improvement actions to address any critical issues. |
Delegata alle Biblioteche e ai Software | Prof.ssa Lisa Branchini | The Departmental Delegate for Libraries and Software acts as a liaison between the Department and the University’s central library structures. The Delegate is responsible for monitoring and managing disciplinary and interdisciplinary library resources, both digital and print, as well as software acquired for teaching and research. The role involves coordinating departmental needs regarding access, updates, and usage of resources, in close collaboration with the Engineering and Architecture Library Sector and the University Library Services (SBA). The Delegate promotes the adoption of appropriate digital and bibliographic tools, contributing to the continuous improvement of services offered to the academic community. |
Delegato agli Studenti con disabilità e DSA | Prof. Paolo Guidorzi | The Delegate to Students with Disabilities and SLD is responsible for being a reference point for students with special needs. The Delegate can be an effective “bridge” between students and other professors in the Department, can intercept special needs of some students and refer them to the Office of Services for Students with Disabilities and SLD to request the most appropriate supports. Likewise, the Delegate can be of support to professors in cases where they need to interface more directly with the Office of Services for Students with Disabilities and with SLD. The Service offers support to all students who may be experiencing a situation of disadvantage such that they are unable to take full advantage of the educational, relational and personal growth opportunities that the University course may offer, due to a disability, a learning disorder, a congenital or acquired pathology, or a temporary injury. The guiding principle of the Service is to ensure equal study opportunities for all, promoting the greatest possible degree of participation and autonomy for each student. |
Delegato all’Orientamento (sede di Bologna) | Dott. Romolo Laurita | The Orientation Delegates coordinate and support the orientation activities of each Degree Program, with the aim of ensuring that students have an informed access to the services offered for incoming orientation, facilitating a coherent choice at the time of enrollment. In addition, they promote and coordinate in-progress orientation activities, to support students along their educational path. |
